Poetry Sunday* Yeezy Taught Me.

Society

When we look up all we see is a roof
We can't even see the sky, isn't the sky supposed to be the limit?
Heaven's in our faces but we can't touch it
Instead we're limited by having a roof over our heads
Aren't we supposed to be happy? Have we become that ungrateful? Consumed by greed?
All a roof does is protect us from all the harsh elements out there
But we can't even call this a home, because the walls are so cold and empty
A false sense of security
A project that will forever be under construction

Us.

White* Poem

White

White sees seat next to Black, White chooses to stand
White sees Black approaching, White holds on to bag
White sees Black & White holding hands, disgusted White looks away
White sees Black at night, terrified White crosses the street
White sees White at night, White feels safe
But when White trusts White
White ends up .....

Forbidden Fruit* Poem

Forbidden Fruit

I can hear it
I can see it
I can smell it
I can touch it
I can feel it
I can hold it
I can have it
But I can't.

Darkness*

Darkness*

What's the point of staring in the dark, if you can't see anything?

Trusty Companion Part 2 *Poem

Trusty Companion Part 2

Gave up everything but no matter what I do or which road I choose, you are still walking besides me
Similar to a shadow, you mirror my every move
Making me wonder if I made the right choice
You manipulate my decisions
You have the power to ruin my life
You destroy my happiness before it even has a chance to blossom
When I'm dreaming you force me to wake up
Everywhere I look or turn there you are casting your dark shadow upon me
You turn my future into the past
Always there to plant your seed

Doubt.
